Our Coaches

Coach Carter founded SVBC in 2009 and has orchestrated its growth into one of the top clubs in the Pee Dee. He attended his first GMS clinic in 2009 prior to forming the club, receiving training from US National Team coaches Carl McGown, Tom Black, and Chris McGown. He has since attended four more clinics with GMS and ensured that the club teaches the principles and techniques used to train the US National teams. He also has attended one Art of Coaching clinic as well. 

Coach Carter feels that every kid who walks through the door matters to the program. While he leads the 18U team, he can usually be found at practices for teams from 17U down to Developmental League watching future Blazers train with their coaches and ensuring that skill development and motor learning skills are consistent from the top age groups to the lower age groups. Knowing every kid on a first-name basis is a priority to him to ensure that each kid feels important and supported in the club. 

Coach Carter has coached for 16 years and was most recently the Director of Volleyball at Trinity Collegiate School in Darlington until 2022.

Coach Brooke played volleyball for seven years. She played high school volleyball at Hartsville High School and club volleyball with Sandhills Volleyball Club. Coach Brooke enjoys helping kids find their love for the game of volleyball and shaping them into better athletes. She has been both JV and Varsity Assistant Coach at Trinity Collegiate School. She is currently one of our coaches for the 15s Age Division. Coach Brooke is Head JV Coach at Hartsville High School. 

Coach Calin has been coaching since 2011. He has coached teams from 14U-18U and has helped with the Developmental League. He is both Gold Medal Squared and Art of Coaching certified and was Club Director until 2022. From 2017-2022, he was the Head Volleyball Coach and Athletic Director at South Pointe Christian School. Currently, he is the Head Varsity Volleyball Coach at McBee High School. 

Coach Caroline found her love of volleyball at a young age while watching her older cousins. She began playing at the Hartsville Recreation Department and then went on to play at Hartsville High School from 9th to 12th grade. She played club for Sandhills Volleyball Club for two years. She began her coaching career at the Hartsville Recreation Department, where she has coached for six years. She has coached with Sandhills Volleyball Club for five years as well and loves coaching and helping young minds find a passion for volleyball! She was most recently the McBee Middle School Head Coach.

Coach Crystal has been a part of SVBC for 9 years, 5 as a parent and 4 as a coach. She played volleyball throughout middle school and high school at Emmanuel Christian School and collegiately at Coker University. Coach Crystal is a Financial Secretary at a local church in Hartsville. When not in the gym, she enjoys spending time outdoors with her husband Sam. Their children have blessed them with 4 grandchildren who they love to spoil. 

Coach Crystal is Gold Medal Squared and Art of Coaching certified. She is currently the Varsity Head Coach at Emmanuel Christian School, where she has been for 6years. 

Coach Kristine has played volleyball recreationally starting in high school. She started out coaching 12U at the Hartsville Recreation Department. Coach Kristine is currently the Head Coach at Hartsville Middle School, where she has been for the past six years. Coach Kristine has been named Pee Dee Conference Coach of the Year all six years. She has coached at Sandhills Volleyball Club since 2020 as our 14U Head Coach, Developmental Head Coach, and 17U Assistant Coach.

Coach Mackenzie is a former Sandhills Volleyball Club and Hartsville HS player. She is currently the JV Assistant Coach at Hartsville High School.

Coach Parker has been with Sandhills Volleyball Club for five years coaching our 15U, 16U, and 17U teams and helping out with Developmental League. Growing up in Orlando, Florida, he played club for Ocean Bay Volleyball and MVP Academy. In high school, Coach Parker was named All-State First Team his Junior and Senior years and had multiple AAU National Gold Bracket Finals finishes. He went on to play collegiately at Coker University. During his collegiate playing career, Coach Parker tied a Coker record for blocks in a match (8), ranked in the Top 75 in aces per set individually, and helped Coker finish 3rd in the NCAA in aces per set as a team his freshman season.

Coach Parker began coaching while in college. He began coaching at the Hartsville Recreation Department during his four years in college coaching ages 7U-15U. He has coached for the South Carolina Governor’s School for Science and Mathematics for two years working with both Varsity and Junior Varsity teams, Varsity Assistant at Trinity Collegiate School for one year, and Hartsville High School Varsity assistant for one year. Coach Parker is Gold Medal Squared and Art of Coaching certified. In addition to coaching, he helps our athletes get recruited to the next level by overseeing our in-house recruiting program. 

Coach Parker is currently the Varsity Head Coach at Hartsville High School.
